Symptoms of a failing timing belt? How would i know if the timing belt is going or gone? 850

I agree that you have a lot of transmission symptoms. But one part that can cause the tranny to do all kinds of crazy behavior, is the TPS (Throttle Position Switch). A bad TPS may or may not screw up your idle and will make the car hesitate on acceleration - you have all of these symptoms.

The TPS is on the throttle body and is really easy to replace on your non-turbo, just carefully move a few vacuum hoses out of the way and get in there with a little socket. Two 7mm bolts and one electrical clip. You can order a TPS for $45 shipped from AutohausAZ.com and if I were you I would do that. It may not be the problem but it is worth a try before you take it in to the shop and start pouring out money.
