Cooling Fan running backwards after installing radiator 850 1996

I just finished installing my new radiator. Went out on me last night as I was crossing the Canadian border. I was able to limp home the rest of the 5 miles. Anyways, after getting everything back in and plugged I took it for a test drive. The cooling fan is blowing air toward the enging instead of toward the radiator. I went back in and unplugged everything in that area and pulled the fan out to make sure I installed it the right direction. The blades are on the radiator side. The check engine light is also on. I don't understand what would cause the fan blades to run in the opposite direction. Or maybe I put something in the wrong way. Anybody have any ideas before I take it to the mechanic in the morning?

Justin
