Rear trailing arm link replacement 850 1994

Well I'm into this one for over an hour and the prognosis is not good. The parts came apart easily enough up to the point where you try to actually extricate the old link bushing from the delta link (suspension arm). This is where it gets interesting. I tried to hammer the old bushing out to no avail, called my trusted local Volvo service manager who put me on the phone with one of the few mechanics that had ever actually done one of these. He laughed, said it takes them 2 guys and 2.5 hours per side to get these things out using heat, air hammer, and all the grunt they can muster. He said to make sure I did not have any guns laying around the house as I would surely put a bullet in my head before finshing this one by myself!

So, I am going back at it for one last shot using heat, but was hoping to find another posting to this thread to give me some better news!
