2000XC intermittant no start V70-XC70 2000

Your issue is most likely your immobilizer antenna ring. This is the element that works with your key to recoginze the chip in the key and pervent bad guys from using another key to start your car. It's going bad and does so intermittently. Thus when you start you crank and crank but no start. Sometimes it will start up and then die immedidately and others it will start fine and run perfectly. Cost is about $200-300 US to replace.

Ocasionally it can be the key itself if the chip is going bad.

Not 100% guarantee but my guess is that this is what's going on.

Good luck.
