Okay Y'all,
For all of you with your political ramblings, this is the wrong forum.
The reality of the situation is that replacing the cat with a straight pipe on that car is an unknown.
Back in the 80's with 240's and 740's, cat's were just a way to further clean up an already clean running brick. No up or downstream o2 sensors, no engine trully built around a fine line of performance, economy and emmissions.
This is a right or wrong scenario here. What's right is replacing that cat with the proper part, and keeping your brick the way that the savvy Swedish designers meant it to be. The wrong way is putting in a straight pipe and delving into the unknown.
When it comes to my daily driver... I HATE unknowns.
