Several things come to mind:
1. Not a good repair
2. Wrong ATF used
3. Dirty transmission to begin with...may need flushing, though early.
4. The P0740 code is a TCC solenoid malfunction code (solenoid may be bad)
3. Code didn't completely reset and was still active in the computer.
It does take a pretty specific drive cycle (or series of them) to completely reset the Tranny related "P" codes. Many people on here have documented what to do to get ready for an inspection. I would suggest doing a search here for "Inspection" or "Drive Cycle", etc. and see if any of these suggestions will help. Also, although a newly replaced tranny, check the condition of the fluid from the dip-stick. Could be brown already if you had a used or rebuilt tranny installed that had gunk in it to begin with.
Good luck and I hope you get this problem resolved.
