Changing the Dist. cap 850 1995

Easy - even I can change dist cap & rotor!

here are some quick observations.

You'll need an allen wrench for the rotor - I think 1/8", but have others available if I'm wrong. Check fit on new one beofre to take things apart.

I don't number my plug wires - just am careful to switch one at a time from the old cap to the new.

The bottom most dist cap screw is a pain unless you remove the air filter box, also makes getting to flame trap easier. But I've done it both ways, although leaning towards removing the box so I can dump out grit sucked in and stopped by air filter.

Do flame trap check at the same time.

Good luck - good place to start learning how to do it yourself!
