96 n/a 855 won't start-please help 850

The click you hear is the starter selenoid engaging w/o enough power to crank the engine. Couple things to try. (1) First, pull you battery cables and make sure they are clean by using a terminal brush in the post and cable end. They will often develop an invisable layer of corrosion. Check the battery voltage. Yes, even new off the shelf are sometimes duds. I'd also clean the connection at the starter. (2)Try squirting some contact cleaner (not WD40) in your ignition switch which may be the problem. If you know how to "hot wire", you can bypass the ignition switch and see if the engine will crank. (3) Pull all your spark plugs and see if the engine will crank. If it does with all plugs out, you have a problem (not good but unlikely) called hydrostatic lock where there is antifreeze in the cylinder preventing the engine turning over. Most likely your problem is electrical.
