Help - 440/460 CVT Info 400 1996

Hi, I've recently bought a 1996 440 1.8 GS Auto (CVT/HTA). Car has done 78,000 miles with the CVT having been replaced at around 60,000 miles.

I get a rumble as I pull away in 'Drive' is this normal(doesn't rumble in R)?

Also, first forward select of the day goes in with a shudder, again is this normal as this can be quite bad?

Are there any adjustments and checks that can be made on the CVT/HTA Auto 'box?
