Blown Fuse, Battery Cables

I would replace the battery if it is more than 2 to 3 years old. That will either take care of it, or allow you to focus on digging deeper without worrying about the battery. Why would the cables need replacing?

I would also replace the radio fuse and clean the contacts, but that probably isn't the problem. I just replace the battery in mine and then I replace the alternator because it wasn't putting out juice. That was easily tested with a simple volt meter. I searched archives under "alternator" to find out what to do.
