850 rad support 850 1995

Hi,
My wife just had her 850 in for an oil change & was told that the rad support on drivers side has broken.Otherwise the rad itself is fine. Is there a kit to repair the rad support or do we have to replace the whole rad as the dealer has said? Seems like a waste of $650.
