I have no current data on Geico. But some 15 yrs ago, my wife was backed into by a woman at a stop light. Neither car had any visible damage, and wife decided not to call for the police. Both went on their way. Comes time for renewal, I get a 650% up charge on a policy for 2 cars. I call and am told based on my wife's conviction and accident record that is the lowest they can allow. So I call the State of Ohio Motor vech. records, no record for either of us. Call Hamilton County same. Ask for clairification from Geico. Letter comes back based on her "alleged" traffic conviction and accident record. I got mad, asked for date of accident and docket no. of conviction. No reply. Finally called their claims dept. They had paid out a claim to this woman, based on her assertion that wife had hit her in the butt doing several $1,000 damage. Since I then had the date of the alleged accident, I contacted Cinci PD, no record for wife being cited for anything, but lady was cited for losing control of her car and hitting a utility pole backwards. I notified Geico of this, with copies of all pertenant facts. They reduced the premium by $50. bucks and told me that was the best they would do. I wrote their then president a letter telling him all the facts and aluding to what section of my anatomy and where they could kiss me. Would I ever do business with a firm that is so screwed up, most emphatically NO. Their rates may be ok, but when it comes to where the rubber hits the road, they did not show me specific preformance. I carry insurance for when I need it, the rest of the time it's a piece of paper. Nough said.
