In response to your stuck screws in the head V70-XC70 2007

The corrosion of steel screws into aluminum is ugly.
A multi-day or week soak with MMO / Mystery Oil (not to be confused with
other stuff, some merely solvents) can help remove without the
ugly BS of drilling out busted screws. MMO needs time to work.
There's nothing easy about "Easy Outs".
After the long MMO soak and it still is frozen put heat if you can.
Sometimes a single sharp heavy hit straight on with a drift
can break a screw loose too.
Always use discretion, and use Never-Seez when re-assembling.
Do retap those buggered threads afterwards.

I think I'll go out now and put a little MMO on the thermostat screws for good luck.
They are notorius for being stubborn. Maybe an all winter soak
will make them cooperative? :-)

Cheers, Bill
