Range of tire sizes V70-XC70

Hello, My snow tires are mounted on Volvo p/n 9173122 steel wheels. Their size is 215-55-16.

They rub a bit at limit.

How much narrower can I go when the time comes to replace them?

Since my previous P2's sported 195-65-15 tires AND that the steel wheel numbered above is for P2's I'm guessing I can go to a narrower size snow tire.

Does the width bead-to-bead on a wheel have practical limits which cannot be exceeded when it comes to narrowing?
