noob question "snorkel' hose S70 2000

Hey guys, I was driving the other day and in order to get around a semi that was coming into my lane, I jammed the pedal all the way to the floor. Long story short, it wouldn't shift/sounded like it was starving for air. Opened the hood and the large plastic hose going from the radiator/fan area to the air cleaner had totally collapsed and had come off. I popped it out and reattached and everything was fine. 1. Is this a common failure? and 2. Do I need to replace this part now? Mind you there is no discernible damage such as cracks, etc.; just some crease marks. Thanks in advance!
