I just received a call from the NHTSA concerning their investigation into the ETM (ETS) on 1999-2000 year model S70's. He advised me that they now have well over 300 verified complaints against Volvo concerning the ETM. He also told me to let everyone possible know about what they are doing to help us. They are currently waiting for Volvo to provide them with any and all documents concerning the safety, and reliability of this part. Once they get the info from Volvo (within the next 6 weeks) they will go through it, and make a decision in around two months after they get the info. If there is anyone on this board who has spent their money to get it cleaned or replaced, they should file a complaint with the NHTSA. Everyone should be reimbursed for the $ spent on the part when it is all over. The more complaints they have, the faster it will happen. Here's the web address where you can file a complaint.
