No error codes. This has been going off and on for 2 years. It used to be more frequent, but I checked all of the hoses and found one not properly tightened down and I replaced the MAF out of a much lower mileage northern car. My car has over a quarter million miles in the deep south - LOTS of HEAT!
Problem goes like this: It is HOT outside and I drive the car. I turn it off. Anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes later, I get in and restart the car. It will barely idle and I must give it gas until it will rev up. Until I can get it to rev up, it will stall if I try to drive it. Sometimes it can take 3-4 minutes before it will rev up.
Before replacing the MAF and tightening the clamp on the hose, I used to get error codes - but if I tried to remember them I would probably lead you down the wrong path - as I would probably give the wrong code. Now I get no error codes (or at least the light does not come on to tell me that it needs repairs).
This isn't happening too often any more - but it still exists.
With the temperatures cooling down, I expect this to be less and less of an issue until next summer. But by then, it will be driven by my teenagers. I would hate for them to have it stall in the middle of a busy intersection.
Any clues?
