AC Stops Cooling In Traffic Jam S80

My 01 S80 2.9 stopped cooling today while i was stuck in traffic ..The outside temp was 98F..I was stuck at ilde for about 20 mins..I turned off the AC system, however when i got moving again on the xway and turn on the AC again, all was good, cool air..mmmmmmmm! was this a fluke or a system shut down due to heat, or do i have an AC issue to address,? Thanks for any input..KYVOLVO
