I have a 1999 S80 and I am getting a "No oil pressure" warning message. I purchased my '99 S80 second hand with 66,900 miles on it back in November of last year. The person I bought it from said he changed the oil every 3 months and the oil looked clean.
I took the car into the local (one and only) Volvo dealer here in Hawaii. They changed the O-Ring, Sealing Ring, Chemical Gasket and oil pressure seal(?). That did not turn off the warning light. They then told me that connecting rod bearings would need to be changed.
I consulted an independent Volvo mechanic and he siad that if the bearings were the problem, there would be knocking sounds coming from the engine. I took the car to this mechanic and he did an engine flush. The warning light still goes on. The mechanic asked me to check with the dealre to see if they did an "oil pick up update". I am waiting for the dealer to get back to me with this information.
Has anyone out there ever run into or heard of this problem? If so, what was the cause(s) and the solution(s)?
