Window switch malfunction S70 1998

What does it cost to have the window switches replaced? My front passenger window switch doesn't work at all, and now the corresponding driver side master switch doesn't work either. Help!!!

    Window switch malfunction S70 1998

I recently replaced the drivers side window switch module on my 1998 S70 myself. Purchased it on ebay for $119.00. The old one pulls out without removing the door panel from the door. New one needed some persuasion to go in, but the job went better than expected.
    Good luck...

I have a '99 S70 with a bad switch. How do you remove the switch?

Butter knife under the trim and pry up...be carful not to damage the arm rest section...a lot of people sqeeze something between the butter knife and the fake leather here.

          DON'T DO IT! S70 1998

You ONLY remove the switch module (gray) itself.

If you attempt to remove the surrounding plastic you will cause tremendous damage. This piece is glued and heat welded to the door panel.

It is possible to grasp the window switch and pull the module out. The better method is to remove the door panel and push the switch out from behind.

            DON'T DO IT! S70 1998

I think you misunderstood me...I guess I said "trim," but what I meant was the grey module itself...sorry. VADIS itself shows a diagram of a guy's hand holding a flat head screw driver prying up on the piece in question from the back (behind the plastic switch piece, back seat side of flast arm rest area)...it pops right out. I've seen where a butter knife with plastic tape around the blade is much better in this instance than a flat screw driver. Of course you don't take the If door panel off. If you do, you're talking a lot of unecessary work and possibly damaging it if you don't know what your doing.

The cheapest that I've seen the driver's side switch assembly is at FCP Groton for $119.

If you're referring to the single-switch for any non-driver's door, shoot me an e-mail. I have two, new in boxes, that I'd be happy to unload. I believe they typically sell for $39 or so at the dealers. Make an offer.

    Window switch malfunction S70 1998

I ahd some issues with the switches on my V70 XC. I haven't fixed them yet. I do know that the driver's door switch costs around $130 new. Used it is about $75. I don't know what the individual door switches cost. What I also know is that the master switch must function right for the door switches to works since the contacts provide power for the door switches. As for replacing them, each switch can be carefullt pried from the door arm rest. Carefukl is the key word to prevent marring the bezel. Once out, they can be unplugged and replaced. One word of caution is also that the remote door lock control is in the driver side switch and I can't say for sure if it will adapt to your remote door opener if it is changed. I hope this helps.
