A/C Pressure 850

A/C is cycling about every 15 seconds, so bought one of those cans with a guage inline and watched the pressure as the compressor cycled on and off. When the compressor was off, the pressure was about 45, but when it turned on it would drop down below 25. I added some coolant and didn't see the pressure change at all, but the compressor did stop cycling and would stay on and it seemed to blow cooler. Both lines going/returning from the evap were now cool and sweating, however it didn't seem like much coolant was used from the can.

What should the pressure read on the guage while the compressor is running?
How long does it take to add a can of coolant? (a had that can on about 10 minutes and it didn't seem to make a dent in it)

Any suggestion appreciated in advance.

The total refrigerant capacity is 26.5 oz, and it's very important to avoid overcharging. BTW, the PAG oil capacity is 6 oz.
The low-side pressure w/ compressor off doesn't matter much, and the pressure with compressor engaged should fall between 25 and 33 psi (according to Volvo) w/ ambient temp of 80F.

I've used the gauge you're talking about and it's kinda hard to differentiate the P in increments any less than 5 psi. B/C you added an entire can and b/c it doesn't cycle on and off, I'd drive it for a few days (assumming the gauge reads in that 25-33 range). Do you have a thermometer that can reach into the duct? If so, duct temp should get down to 40-50 degrees (at LEAST 30 degrees cooler than ambient air). I bought one of those $10 Target digital home thermometers (with a wire and "outside probe" temperature reading) and I feed that little wire into the duct.

      A/C Pressure V70-XC70 1999

      Symptoms: no cold air!
Compresser cycles on & off every 8 to 10 seconds
Pressure is 25 psi(compressor off), 45 psi (compressor on)
Button lights flash for about one minute before going off
      Filter is clean
Compressor clutch is working (front pully center rotates when compressor
      engages)
Fans all in working condition & and blowing hard.
      Please comment.
      Thanks

        1) Is this the same problem as the origin of this thread (ie, are you NvrLose)?
        2) If not, you won't get much help unless you "repost" as a new thread.
        3) Double-check the pressures 1st, however. Did you mean that the P is 25 w/ compressor ON?
        4) Also, include as much detail as you can about the history . . . have you added refrigerant? . . . does it EVER put out cool air now, etc . . .
