Hey, Guys Thanks for your help on my problem. I have a 95 850 turbo that has white oil smoke coming out of the tailpipe only at idle. It doesn't do this when you first crank it up in the morning only after it runs for 10 to 20 minutes. I took it to my iny volvo mechanic and he said it could be the crank case ventilation stoped up, bad turbo, or bad valve seals.
So today I had him clean the crank case ventilation out, this did no good.
So know he is saying he can diagnose wether it is the turbo or valve seals by letting it run for a while at idle. shut the engine off and pull the plugs if their is excesive oil he say's it is the valve seals if not its the turbo leaking oil through the seals at idle and burning through the exhaust. Does this sound rite to guys. he said it was not the head gasket or cracked block or head, their is no sign of a coolant or water leak in the engine.
Let me know what you guys think and if it is the turbo how much $$$ and valve seals how much$$$.
Thanks
dennis
