IS there a V60 forum

When I had my V50 and S60 there were forums for those cars. Picking up a V60 today but I don't see a forum for a V60.

Am I just not seeing it or isn't there a forum?

    IS there a V60 forum

I have been reading this site for 17 years - the posts are WAY down compared to 17 years ago.

I now read ALL in RWD and FWD, and still I bemoan the paucity of new posts.

There is not enough traffic to call for a V60 sector.

What would be nice is a chart that spells out corresponding models, or a new selection list that combines like models.

The V60 is the same as the S60, mechanically. Notice there isn't a V90 on the AWD side either.

Jarrod is not maintaining this site well.

Thanks. The same as an S-60. That S60 has been around a long time and would a 2016 V60 share the same platform and fixes?

Good to see a name I remember.

In June 2018 I sold my V50, a car that was in 100% perfect shape. I thought I would get a 2015 Outback limited a try. I never knew how much I would despise a CVT transmission. A CVT is very inefficient at 25 MPG which is where I spend a lot of my time. A CVT does not like being cold. On cold mornings when I first take off, there is a hill I go up. The OB will roar, the RPMs' are in the 3,000 range and I'm giong 15 > 24 MPH. Oddest thing. Plus the put-put jerky feeling of the CVT in traffic. Errr!

I took a financial hit today and traded in the OB on a 2016 V60. Nice car, very nice Volvo.

With only 20,000 on the odo I suspect it will be a long while before I have many questions about maintenance.

Feels good to be back sitting on comfortable seats.

The S60 is on its 3rd version. The V60 is like the S60 with storage space.

A totally agree with your conclusion of the CVT. Give it gas and wait for the tranny to catch up. Besides, the seats in the 60 are sooooo much better than any Subaru.

My wife and daughter are Dr Who fans. Daleks are given a bad rap.

Ha ha ha! "Daleks are given a bad rap."
My V60 is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

The comfort of the V60 seats is far above the OB. Last November I took a 2900 mile trip in the OB and thought I was going to die or jump out of the car. The seat and geometry of driving was terrible.

I thought I would be getting a bit better MPG than I am getting on the V60. I think my 2007 V50 got better MPG.

My subbie was a 2.5, about 300 pound less than the V60 and was AWD all the time. I'm getting a fair amount less MPG than the subbie.

As I told my wife, even if I get a lot less, I don't drive many miles and of the miles I do drive, the feel, the reaction of the Volvo is soooo much better than the Subbie....so who cares. If it costs $200 more a year for gas --- so be it. The roar of that subbie in the morning, 3000 > 3300 RPM and only going 25 MPH was odd.

I'm wondering if the 18 inch rims were OEM or was 17 inch? If not, was the car computer calibrated for the bigger wheels? The tires are low profile Continental ContiPro.

I'll wait until I fill up a few times and that will give a better idea of real life results.

We just bought an S60 with 4 cyl E-drive. They advertise 36 mpg highway. At 75-80 with two people and a healthy load of "stuff" we got 32 mpg highway. Not much better than our old S80 2.5T(28-29 mpg) or V70 2.4NA(29-30 mpg) at the same speed. Maybe if we drove slower.... Also the new one has wider tires and I'm sure they're not inflated to the psi that I would normally run, like 38-40. If I put more air in them I'm sure the TPS would have a cow.

At 75 MPH you can expect 23% lower mileage that at 55MPH, the speed often used for mileage figures.

Cars with smaller engines suffer more difference than cars with larger engines.

Often Consumer Reports tells you to order a larger engine than the smallest offered when buying a new car.

Hybrids are mostly designed for city driving, or driving in heavy traffic, some actually cite better city mileage than highway.

Perhaps your car is not broken in yet.

You should ask your dealer if higher pressure will disrupt your TPS - I think that they will adjust to the new pressure.

Be more careful with your tire pressure than in the past, low profile tires are more sensitive to changes, causing abnormal wear.

I recommend getting one of those battery boosters that are in a box about the size of a battery that has jumpers, a compressor, light, phone charger, a small inverter, etc. I find it quite handy to adjust air pressure - It runs a bit to bring a tire up 5 psi, but it does the job.

I am tired of seeing "STILL not road worthy". Fix it up before the car falls apart from neglect! The 1800ES deserves to be pushed into corners and blasting up hills. Along with the grin on your face when you floor the pedal.

I know, I know. I’m going to use the excuse that life got in the way. In actuality if I didn’t sit around with my nose in BB so much it would be on the road by now.
