I have a 1997 850 wagon and the child safety lock will not disengage. I am able to push lever down but you still cannot open from the inside. Have to open the door from the outside. Ideas how to fix? thanks.

I checked my car and the lever was very easy to move. You may have bent a pin which is going to be a pain to fix.

Keeping it running is better than buying new

If it has an electrical switch, I would suspect that. You might remove it to see if that solves the problem.

If not, touch the wires momentarily, that might cancel the lock.
