Hi, my radiator hose plastic plug to the evap tank snapped at top of fan shroud snapped.
Do I have to replace with another whole fan shroud?

The fan shroud is just a cover held on with 2 10mm bolts. The plastic (WHY??) nipple is part of the radiator, which means that the radiator needs replacement. God, I hate plastic parts!!

As to terminology, that is not the evap tank, rather that is the overflow tank for the coolant. A year earlier, the overflow tank was connected to the top of the thermostat housing and that is metal. Stupid plastic radiator!!

You lost me somewhere. The radiator hose does not attach to the fan shroud.

Vacuum hoses, yes. If you are talking about the Evap system soliniod, just glue it back on.

Hi

Thanks for reply. I thought it was shroud because the part was black plastic, Though, now I see it is the top part of the edge of the radiator or the casing of the radiator. I am not sure if the pin can be glued, there is some pressure behind the coolant, it fountains upward from the small 6mm hole. I am also not sure yet if the edge or case can be removed separately from the large finned intercooler/radiator itself. There is a seam between the aluminium rad and the plastic case, and little slots things, but it appears the pieces are almost molded together. I am hoping they are separable.

I am afraid that someone banged against it and broke the nipple. The nipple cannot be "repaired" as the coolant is too hot for glue. Stupid plastic!

The radiator is separate from the intercooler and the AC condenser. Save your new fluid, it is reuseable.

"Save your new fluid, it is reuseable"

Agree, but strain it before pouring it back in.

Guys, guys
when I had the engine reconditioner mechanic around to view the cylinders and block he said to run with just water. I used a little coolant with my water. The temps were holding steady. Though, now I wonder if it didn't work against my plastic pipe - weakening it ... it's like that air mass meter - soon after doing work which included beneficial [sic] air mass meter spraying - car splutters and runs like shaking bones.
