I was trying to remove the stock exhaust tip on my 850 turbo wagon. It looked like you remove a bolt and then remove the tip. Unfortunately the head of the bolt came out part way and then sheared off. Before I drill out the bolt I thought I would ask if how that exhaust tip attaches? Does the bolt just go through the exhaust pipe and tip? Or does it have some sort of bracket inside the tip?

That 'bolt' just screws down to the exhaust pipe holding the tip in place. No brackets, holes, etc. You could even cut away the tip metal that holds the bolt and pry it away from the exhaust to remove it.

Unlike mine, some SOB welded it to the exhaust pipe!!!

Thanks. As a general rule I don't like to cut things if I don't have to, but if I need to that's always an option.
