What ever you buy...and I have replaced a few...WASH the heater core before installation. My last one, I didn't. Once it was in operation, there was a terrible oil smell...I had to dismantle the job, wash the core's outside, and replace. There may be a light coating of oil on the outside of the heater core, so a wash with Simple Green or another de-greaser is whats in order. NOT THE INSIDE of the core...just the outside.
