Brake hose lining

My volvo mechanic is suggesting I replace a missing brake hose lining on one of the front brake calipers. Is this something that needs to be done right away? I am hoping to trade the car in soon and wonder if this is actually something that I should spend the money on anyway. What are the ramifications?

Brake hose lining

I don't understand what you mean re. lining. If you mean that some of the outer covering of the brake line is coming off, YES. Those flexible lines don't last forever, and if a line breaks then your brakes will no longer work. It is a relatively cheap fix and needs to be done on both sides.
