WOT Sticking r key on my laptop?

Delete if I'm off base, but the R key on my 7 year old ThinkPad has begun to give out. So, I'm leaving r's out of a lot of my writing. Do you think I should give it a shot of:

1. Contact cleaner
2. Silicone spray
3. Carb cleaner
4. Brake cleaner
5. PB Blaster
6. WD 40

All advice appeciated.

WOT Sticking r key on my laptop?

Your 7 year old ThinkPad is sending you a private message: Time to get a new one!!! Only use electrical contact cleaner, nothing oil based.
We still use IBMs method of cleaning keyboards at our house. The 6 inch upside down drop test. Be surprised how much junk falls out :)

      Thanks, Klaus...

I had just assumed that it was an electrical problem like a failing switch or a dirty contact. But I tried your fix and a clipped finger nail dropped out. Then, to go one step further, I aired it out with my Shop Vac.
In the words of Tony the Tiger, it's "grrrrrrrr-eat!"
