BOTH my daughters drive 1995 940's. One's a wagon, the other a sedan. They're both red (youthful and high visibility). The beauty of the 940 is that it has airbags, rear wheel drive, is incredibly easy to work on (on the rare occasion something breaks), is not too fast and is a virtual tank. Bigger cars are safer cars. What's neat about the 940's is that all my daughters' friends think they're really cool. We know how important that is :)
For what it's worth, consider sending her to a real driving course offered at a race track. Audi's "Teen Driving Experience" is an excellent investment in your child's safety.
Good luck!
