All systems crash V70-XC70

98 v70xc has decided to quit. All was running well when I turned it off then a minute later decided to move the car and nothing. Turning the key did nothing but send the info center into a series of 8's or 0's and nothing from the engine.
I checked fuses - ok and finally called for a jump. The jump started the car and got me home without incident. The car is still not starting a day later.
Thanks for any help.

If it starts with a jump I would definitely consider a bad battery as the problem. Also, the '98's had/still have issue with the ignition switch (where the key goes in). Try wiggling it to see if it starts. You might have just gotten lucky when you jumped it, in that the ignition switch was not shorting at that time. So, have both of these things checked out. Both issues casue some funky electrical glitches.

Thanks. I discovered the ignition trick a few months ago when the radio and other elctrics where blank with the engine running. I will look forward to it being as simple as a new battery - somehow I forgot the easy stuff.
