    2004 S80 2.5T Reliability help S80

A Volvo mechanic-friend from Temple, TX (30+years) says the S80 with the 5 cyl turbo is much better than the 6 cyl model. I did drive one and it is nice and a large well appointed car. Not as spunky as my S70 T5 though. Believe it would be a good choice----my opinion.

    2004 S80 2.5T Reliability help S80

The 2.5T engine is more reliable than the double turbo T6 engine, but the question still remains why a S80 and not a S60.

If you're confortable with the S80 and all the computer gizmos, that are dealer-only repairs and cost $$$$, then it should be ok.

The 2.5T is a 5 cylinder light pressure turbo with about 200bhp. Much less than the T6, but better gas milage and reliability. The torque comes on very quickly, unlike the high presssure engines, which makes up for lost bhp.
Yes, it is the same engine as the V70.
