Mystery vacuum hose on brass elbow under Vacuum tree and throttle S70 1998

Had my PCV system (hoses, etc) replaced and all nipples cleaned out. Now my car breaths much better. The guy who did the work spent most of the day doing this...said it was a major bear, but only charged me what the book said would be the time taken to do it...4 hours at his rate of $30...wow! All for $120. Can't believe that he loves to work on my car and he is competent to boot.

Anyway, he pointed out a hose coming off of the bottom of the vacuum tree that is somewhat dry/heat rotted and told me that I would need to replace that in the not-to-distant future. Problem is that I can't figure out what the hose is or where exactly it goes. It appears to disappear down under the charged air hose coming up from the intercooler and come out between the battery and air box, possibly either connecting to the underside of the air box, or going on around the side of it. May have to take the air box off to see. I'm adding a link to a picture of it below (dotted line indicates the hose, but it's hard to see as the lower part bends and disappears immediately). The hose is connected to a brass elbow coming off the bottom connector, below the vacuum tree. If anyone can help me ID this guy, I would be very grateful.

Found out it goes to the Servo motor, or brake booster. Does anyone know how long of a hose as well as it's diameter (mm?) so I can replace it with, say a silicone hose which is bound to last much longer. Any help would be appreciated.
