when you pull the rear shocks, consider replacing them with KYB GAS ADJUST. the are a good match--- Unfortunately KYB no longer makes the GAS ADJUST struts that will fit in the front of Volvo 240s.

I bought them years ago --- the Gas Adjust ---front and rear for my 1980 240. Combined with IPD Sway Bars ---
