Michael,

I saw in one of your posts that you're replacing the 5.0 in your car with an LS3. Will you be posting pictures in a thread here (or somewhere)? It would be great to watch the progress.

Also, do you have plans for the 5.0 motor and other Ford-related "bits"?

THANKS!

Michael,

Thanks for posting those pictures! Your work is very impressive . . . it will keep me inspired as I go back into our old 245GL 5.0. I did the initial engine swap in 1995 (20 years--yikes!), but it needs some considerable updating. May take a while though--family health issues are taking us to Ellerbe NC every couple of weeks.

Not surprising that all your engine drivetrain parts went as quickly as they did--quality stuff goes pretty quickly.

Thanks again for posting the pictures.

Steve A-

and a merry Christmas to you and yours . . . .

If you wanna follow along -- here, and back up to page 752. http://forums.corral.net/forums/southeast/14792-anyone-east-tn-corral-758.html

Best of luck on the health issues -- aging moms on both sides, I can relate. Have a great holiday!

Michael,

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the link--that's some great (and inspiring) work you're doing. I'll be following this thread quite closely, as I saw an LS crate motor a few months ago and thought it looked like a good option (as compared to rebuilding--and enhancing--the current 5.0 motor). Now if I can just squeeze in some car time between moms, moving youngest to MN, and oldest getting married. 2016 should be interesting to say the least!

Thanks again, and a happy, healthy, prosperous, and peaceful New Year to you and yours.

Steve A-

Hi Steve - yes, old motor is out and, believe it or not, in 11 short days, every single bit of it from bell housing to harness/ecu (even the used clutch/flywheel!) all sold or is spoken for. Paid for a little more than half of the crate LS3. Won't be posting up pictures -- too much drama on the forums except the Mustang forum where I'm known. But for obvious reasons they can't go there! Also completely gutted under-dash Volvo HVAC system. Given summers in the SE, Volvo's OEM system should've been called an HV system as the AC was marginal at best. True of just about any early 80's euro manufacturer. So I'm installing a Classic Auto Air system that will blow through the stock vents/defrost system. About ready to install the HVAC, then clean up engine bay, paint and redo some wiring/fuel lines. Then the new LS can go in.
