Volvo Books, it pays to shop around!!!

Volvo Cars, a Cavalcade 1927 to 2000, by Christer Olsson:

After searching for this book for several years I was delighted to find it listed with Motor media, as it has been out of print for some time. A search on Albris and e bay showed several copies but with prices from $150 to $400!!!! Ye Gods how can they sleep at night!! This was price gouging at it's best, but my trembling fingers stroked my long suffering Visa card and I almost gave in. However, I thought a quick internet search was in order, and praise be to Thor, Motor media had it in stock and shipped to me for a fraction of the cost,(24 bucks canadian) and very quickly I might add. Thanks guys, you saved me from being bent over and getting it without the grease!

So how is the book? Well, not too bad. A little thin on information on some models but on the whole not a bad effort. I would have liked to see more on the post war cars and perhaps more on the popular models. Much information being concentrated on one particular model for instance and nothing on another was a bit annoying. The P544 and the Amazon were not that well covered for instance, but the 444 was overdone. Stuff like that. But still, I love the book and would recommend it to any of my fellow gearheads, Volvo fans or not! Cheers.
