heater control valve substitutes and other questions 120-130

Hi all.
I am in need of a heater control valve for my '62 122. It seems in the past I read a thread offering advise on using valves out of other vehicles (at a much lower cost) but now I cannot find this thread. I remember someone saying that the valve out of some Toyota works/fits well.

I'm also in need of a temperature sensor and an oil pressure sensor. Can I just buy generic sensors off the shelf of my local parts store? I know that some oil sensors have the pressure complete a circuit and some have the pressure open the circuit. If I knew which I needed, I think any sensor would work.

The crane ignitions listed in the ipd catalog come for very specific Bosch distributors (many diffent model numbers). Someone on e-bay is selling a crane electonic ignition (new) that is advertised as being for all 4 cylinder Volvos of the era. How can this be or can't it?

Any advise is much appreciated.

Also... Did early 122's come with hand pump windshield washers? I just found a part in my '62 that seems to be a hand pump.

thanks, mike
