Howdy all,

First of all, take a look at the picture. i have uploaded it to the gallery, search for a piture form me (onlythegoodstuff) or search for "the beast". i have tried to add the link to this page directly but dont know if it worked or not.

i do not know what this stuff is. i just put the engine back in, so i know its new. at first i thought it was drippings from welding at the muffler shop, but i had nothing welded this far up, and the pile of it is getting bigger. then i thought it was battery acid but the battery tray is semi clean.

i now believe its coming from the exhaust manifold somehow. the stuff is not too sticky, and its dark black. parts of it is ash and therefore grey. i think its some sort of carbon from the manifold but i have no real idea.

any thoughts would be appreciated.
