The vacuum is the same everywhere. The only difference between hooking it to the manifold (anywhere on the manifold) and outboard of the throttles (so-called "ported" vacuum) is that there's no ported vacuum with the throttles closed. As soon as they're open beyond idle, it's the same as the manifold.
