I don't see any need for XHTML. HTML 4 is fine.

I plan to make an RSS feed so for those who want XML, that will be the way to do it.

As for the CSS. I find it low priority right now to clean it up but it sure does need to be cleaned up. This seems to be the case on just about every site I visit.

My biggest complaint about those various forum clones is the flat display. I like threads. They mimic real conversation with a flow and digressions.
