Disregard the tip on the Cold Start Injector. Your car (LH 2.2 Fuel Injection) does not have one (LH 2.2 lengthens the injector pulses). Nor do the pumps run when key is turned on like the 740 does (LH 2.4 FI).

I suppose the Engine Coolant Temp sensor may be aging, and not giving the correct input to the FI system. The 700/900 FAQ has procedures for testing ETC resistance (same ECT as in your 240).

As a diagnostic test, you could "prime" the fuel system before turning the key on, by momentarily connecting any metallic "jumper" between fuses 4 and 6 (best to jumper the LEFT side contacts) to see if pressure build-up helps at start-up.

I have also heard (but can't verify) that this symptom can be due to accumulated deposits on the intake valves and in the general valve area.

The theory is that these deposits soak up a portion of what the ECU intended as extra fuel for cold-running. As soon as the deposits become saturated and the engine warms a bit, the mixture then becomes adequate for the conditions.

It's really hard to be specific here. Maybe others will ring in with some tips.
