My '90 740 Wagon has a sunfoof that leaks directly onto my crotch after a hard rain, only when the car has been left parked facing up hill. Other than the comic effect (even I have to laugh when it happens: the water aims for my crotch, no matter how fast I move), there is no redeeming quality to this feature.
I see from the FAQs that the water should drain through front and rear weep holes and drain tubes. I know for a fact that the front weepholes work just fine, but the rear tubes are clogged somewhere.
I've tried snaking the rear tubes out with a piece of copper wire, but got stuck after a few feet.
I'm thinking my clogs are near the outlet to the real world, based on the length of wire I was able to fish through. There may be under coating or something clogging the holes.
The FAQs describe where the rear drain tubes go in a sedan (through the trunk to outlet near rear bumper), but not in a wagon.
Can anyone enlighten me on how to solve this problem? Can you tell me the location of the outlets on a wagon? People are thinking I have a serious bladder control problem (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Thanks,
mrad
