Trunk is stuck! What is this???

Hi all. 93 940 wagon. Last year I got the car and had a couple of times that I have "trouble" with the trunk not latching, then latching.
But NOW, I can't get it to open using the outside handle! I have to crawl inside and open from the inside and jam a stick between the trunck hood and floor so I can open it from the outside. What the..........
