Hmmm - get your wife a paint job??
I mean for the car she drives.

Maybe some sound insulation?
This can really improve the "newness" impression of a car.
(Discussed on Brickboard somewhere, several months ago, maybe in FAQ??)
Basic recipe seemed to be extra layers of carpet underlayment, and hood sound deadener from a diesel car, preferably a Volvo donor diesel. Also an elec. fan conversion if you dare, gets rid of fan roar, and supposedly saves about 2 mpg fuel.
