L-engine identification on 940s

I found a site awhile back which told how to identify an engine type by the number stamped on the head or block of B230s that identify whether the engines are a type K or L. I cannot find the site now. Could anyone tell me how to identify the engine type? Also, do all L type engines have oil squirters?

I am looking for an L engine from a junkyard to replace my B230 non-turbo K engine which froze a few weeks ago as I was driving. I may not have the VIN to identify the engine since I am looking at pulled engines.
