This can be virtually welded in place if the old antiseize failed. How do you know you stripped the threads? If you can rotate the body of the sensor, you should be able to pull down and pull it off while you are rotating. Then retap for new threads.

BTW, this is a great argument for using high-temp antiseize. Most new sensors come pre-equipped with antiseize.
