No it't not when comparing CPS to points.
However, CPS is just one of many parts forming ignition system
on VOLVO. Don't forget the fuel pump relay, radio supression relay, ignition amplifier, oxygen sensor, temperature sensor, knock sensor, balast resistor, and main "computer" itself. I'll take the old system any time when it comes to troubleshooting.
