Not good. Mine have never failed in that way. Mine always separate the Metal and the rubber. Never had it buldge out like that.

Oil filter side Mount is noticably a larger mount then the Other side. Make sure that's what you have on your car.

9 Months? yikes. should be more like 100K between changes
