In tracing a non-illuminating rear fog light, I found the problem in the wiring by the fuse block. It looks like the previous owner did some repairs that have not stood the test of time... also, the connectors to the fuse block are starting to turn green, and I'm worried that more pressing problems will present themselves soon. I'm considering my options for repairing the existing wiring or replacing the whole block with something more robust. I've done a couple of searches on the bboard regarding upgrading, and I see a couple of folks have used Painless Performance parts to replace the original fuse block with blade-style fuses. I'm considering this, but am afraid to get in over my head and/or cause new problems. I'm looking for recommendations and advice on the following choices:
1) Leave well enough alone -- just clean the connectors and replace the fuses.
2) Replace the fuse block in its current location with an aftermarket blade-style block. (If you've done this, how much did it cost for parts and how many hours to complete?)
3) Replace the fuse block and re-route the wiring to someplace drier under the dash or under the hood (Again, if you've done this, how much did it cost for parts and how many hours to complete?)
4) Other options?
