It is a good solvent. I use it to clean garden tools of minor rust. It is good for cleaning out the tube applicator on a can of "Great Stuff" making it useable if the entire can wasn't used up. It is good for removing the residual sticky stuff when peeling of the label from a glass peanut butter jar which I then use for storing small parts like those tiny light bulbs.

It is a poor penetrator, as other posts state. It is not a lubricant.

Life is easier when you use the right stuff.
